HOJICHA | Japanese Roasted Green Tea
Japanese Roasted Green Tea Hojicha – Calm, Toasted, Naturally Low in Caffeine
Hojicha means “roasted tea” - a unique green tea from Japan that is pan-roasted over charcoal, transforming the leaves from green to reddish-brown. Invented in Kyoto in the 1920s, Hojicha has since become a daily favorite for its gentle aroma and grounding flavor.
The roasting process reduces natural caffeine, making it ideal for evening rituals, mindful breaks, or for those sensitive to caffeine.
🌿 100% organic certified. No additives or sweeteners.
Flavor profile:
- deep amber brew;
- aroma of roasted wood, coffee, and caramel;
- naturally sweet, with soft truffle and cocoa notes;
- smooth, mild, and soothing.
Brewing tips:
- use hot water (90-100°C);
- add 2-4 g (approx. 1-2 tsp) of tea per 120-150 ml water;
- steep for under 1 minute - longer time makes flavor stronge;
- can be re-brewed up to 2 times;
- enjoy warm or pour over ice for cold brew.
