Japanese Green Tea Kukicha
Kukicha is a traditional Japanese green tea made from the stems, stalks, and twigs of the Camellia sinensis plant. Naturally lower in caffeine, it offers a smooth, mellow brew with subtle natural sweetness and delicate aroma.
Harvested in Japan and rich in essential oils, Kukicha offers a refreshing alternative for both tea beginners and seasoned drinkers.
Flavor profile:
- pale green infusion;
- fresh grassy and floral aroma;
- smooth and mild taste;
- light natural sweetness;
- no bitterness or astringency.
Brewing tips:
- use warm water only (80-90°C), avoid boiling water;
- add 2 g (approx. 1 tsp) of tea per 120 ml water;
- steep for under 1 minute - longer steeping creates a stronger, more
- concentrated flavor;
- can be re-brewed up to 2 times;
- enjoy warm or pour over ice for a cold brew.
Servings: 2 g per cup.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Avoid humidity and direct light.
Shelf life: 1 year unopened. After opening, consume within 6 months.
