Japanese Black Tea Wakoucha - Ancient tradition | Pure origin | Naturally sweet finish

Wakoucha, which translates as “Japanese red tea,” is one of the oldest black teas made in Japan. Unlike Chinese or Indian black teas, it is cultivated in limited areas across Japan and processed with techniques closer to green tea - resulting in a smoother, lighter cup.

Our Wakoucha is grown in a fully organic environment, free from pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, and harvested in small batches by local artisans preserving traditional craftsmanship.

Flavor profile:

  • bright amber brew;
  • floral aroma with notes of dried fruits;
  • naturally sweet aftertaste;
  • smooth, no bitterness.

Brewing tips:

  • use hot water (90-100°C);
  • add 2-3 g tea per cup;
  • steep for up to 1 minute; longer steeping will yield a deeper, stronger brew;
  • can be re-brewed up to 2 times;
  • enjoy warm or pour over ice for a refreshing iced version.

Servings: 2-3g per cup.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place.

Shelf life: 1 year unopened. After opening, consume within 6 months.
